MORE ABOUT THE COMMITTEES

Campus Beautification Team – Arrives Thursday to support campus clean-up, set-up, and other approved beautification projects. If approved by VUL, the team may also help create photo stops, backdrops, and other welcoming touches around campus. This team may also be called on to assist the Event Host Team with additional hands-on support as needed.

​

Logistics Team – Helps solve the practical details of the weekend, including transportation needs for student-sponsored events and the commencement ceremony. The team will also help develop workable plans for elderly guests and guests with disabilities so transportation, access, and movement between locations are considered in advance.

Event Host Team – Serves as the hosting and on-site support team for all student-planned events. Members will welcome guests, assist with check-in and directions, help keep activities on schedule, coordinate hotel event set-up, assemble gift bags, manage supplies, and support other event preparation needs. This team will also help connect and engage with current VUL students before and during the weekend so we can build relationships and create opportunities for student participation in our activities.

Communications & Media Team – Manages communication before and during graduation weekend. Members will help moderate the Facebook group, post updates and reminders, share information, support social media and networking, and connect with current VUL students before we arrive on campus. This team will also coordinate photography, video, media coverage, and related vendors.

Graduation Experience Team – Serves as the overall planning and coordination group for the student-sponsored graduation experience. The team will review ideas, suggestions, feedback from prior graduates, and past graduation experiences to identify ways to make our weekend better and help turn those ideas into action. Each committee chair will also serve on the Graduation Experience Team, helping keep all of the committees connected and moving in the same direction.

Please note: Committee needs and responsibilities will continue to evolve as we learn more about the weekend, university expectations, available resources, and the experiences we want to create. Members may be asked to support other committees or assist in additional ways as needed. Flexibility and a willingness to jump in will help us create a smooth, memorable, and meaningful weekend for Cohort 16 and our guests.
